As she walks, she realizes it's dusk, not hearing a sound,
standing in the middle of a field, not a soul to be found
Tears are flowing by now, wondering why she was left alone,
looking everywhere and fearing the unknown
She cries out loud, Abba Father! Where are you?
Have you ever screamed that before?
She lets out a sigh and screams some more.
But this time, as she calls; nothing comes out,
when she's in that very moment, asking is He there
In her pain, in her hurt, in her season of despair
She wonders how she got here,
a dark valley that caught her by surprise
she cries out again; still, silence appears, and she sighs,
cause' once again there's no reply
But, her instincts tell her she's not alone in her despair,
but she can't seem to look past her heavy heart
and her dark tears
Even as the dusk grows dark, as she walks
She inhales the air to release the mental block
She pauses as she listens to the stillness; He provides
what looks impossible now, she's reminded
there's no reason to hide
He says, you are never alone, My child,
for a second there, she smiled
His silence is speaking.
Learn to take Me with you in your season of despair,
that jolted her heart, feeling His tender loving care,
it reminded her of the reason she remains strong
walking with Him, although she is dragging along
eventually knowing she'll be okay
He'll provide His grace to overcome this day
Aaahh! she leans on His rod and staff for strength,
the provision that He provided, she relies on this break,
one day she will look back on her season of despair
when she couldn't see through her pain and sorrow
Yet, He was always there
